"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)
There are so many blessings in this single verse! How many times in your life do you lack the insight to know what to do? Every week we encounter situations that require us to act and the consequences of those actions can lay heavy on us for better or worse. But, we have a God Who has invited us to come to Him for wisdom and “Father knows best!” Not only that, He has promised that we will, without fail, receive the wisdom we need when we ask Him.
We don’t have to feel bad about asking Him for help. He loves it! God is eager to give us the answers we so desperately long for in life. His eagerness is matched by His generosity in that He gives this wisdom liberally! Don’t you just love God? His heart is so overwhelmingly loving and affirming toward us. No wonder we have been called to enter His Presence boldly when we need help (Heb 4:16).
Believe it! Know that when you ask God for wisdom, you will receive it. “But let him ask in faith, without doubting…” (James 1:6). Begin to thank God for receiving the wisdom you need to act, then listen for His direction and the accompanying sense of peace.
Pray for wisdom for your household. If we’re all walking in wisdom, offense disappears, unity is secured and we will experience exponential fruitfulness.
Pray for wisdom in your own ministry. God longs to minister to others through you. Ask Him who, when and how.
