"How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
It’s like costly anointing oil flowing down head and beard,
Flowing down Aaron’s beard, flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.
It’s like the dew on Mount Hermon, flowing down the slopes of Zion.
Yes, that’s where God commands the blessing, ordains eternal life."
(Exodus 40:16, 33-25)
I love days where everything seems to go right. Don’t you? I probably would not explain a great day by painting a picture of oil spilling all over my t-shirt and jeans, but this is 2016. Oil spilling all over the place seems more like a bad day than a blessing.
However, I am reminded that almost anytime I see oil mentioned in the Bible it personifies the presence of the Holy Spirit. The presence of God loves to follow us through our day when we are getting along with others. And this presence only thickens when you MULTIPLY that by a whole church of believers who are getting along and are in unity.
How great could it be if we show up to church on Sunday in full unity with our brothers and sisters? My prayer is, let there be unity, let the oil spill and let Your blessing flow through us, around us, in us, over us and all over our church!
Ask God to reveal if there is any hint of opposition in your heart to His ways and the unity He desires for His church and confess it
Thank the Lord for sending Jesus to bring salvation to us
Pray that the unity that the Holy Spirit can bring would flow through your home, your family, the places you go, and our church
