"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV)
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have free access to come to His throne and receive mercy and find grace to help in your time of need. His grace is sufficient for us and His strength is made perfect in our weakness. (II Corinthians 12:9)
We certainly need His grace, and spending time in His presence is where we receive it. The challenge happens when we don’t have the confidence to come to Him. Satan knows this, and therefore attempts to keep us away from the throne by attacking our minds with feelings of unworthiness or by tempting us with sin. He knows we won’t come boldly to the throne to receive our grace if we don’t feel worthy of it.
Our worth has nothing to do with what we have or haven’t done, but it has everything to do with what Jesus did for us on the cross. When thoughts of unworthiness come, we can take those thoughts captive and remind ourselves that our righteousness is because of Him. (II Corinthians 10:5, 5:21) And where there is sin, we need to be quick to repent and receive His cleansing from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)
It’s so important that we are quick to remove any barriers from our lives that prevent us from having confidence to come to the Lord. So when we find ourselves in situations where we need His grace and strength, we know we can come boldly to His throne to receive His help in our time of need.
Search your heart and ask the Lord to reveal any barriers that prevent you from spending time with Him. And then come boldly to His throne and obtain mercy and find grace to help with your need.
Pray for unsaved family members and friends to come to know Christ and to receive His grace and mercy to help in their time of need.
