"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."
Today we have the opportunity to reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made for each of us. Although we in no way deserved it, He loved us so much He willingly laid down His life for you and me. While we rejoice in that love we have received, we at times too easily forget that now we are called to do likewise with one another. To the stranger, our neighbor, family and friends, we get to be a conduit of the unconditional, sacrificial love of God.
What can make this so difficult is that the people in our lives will often fall short of expectation, disappoint and even hurt us, yet the calling to love and sacrifice for them remains. Remember we in no way deserved the love that took Jesus to the cross, yet that didn’t stop Him. Who in your life can you love and serve today, and in doing so be a conduit of the unconditional love of Jesus to them?
Pray for family and friends who don’t know Jesus to encounter Him
