“...And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
I remember the corrective saying “know your place” from when I was younger because I had to be told that a lot! Ha! Speaking out of turn was my specialty, unfortunately. But eventually I started to get it and stopped getting as much egg on my face in the way I approached conversations. It is also good as we mature spiritually to know our place as we converse with the Lord about our situations and circumstances.
The amazing thing about the Lord is that He has saved a front row seat for us. In the natural we can feel that in life He has given us a back row seat which will impact our approach to prayer. Some Christians operate their prayer life with a very dim view of where we are positioned. Listen to Paul in Ephesians as he explains to the Church the close connection we have NOW... “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
We need to “know our place” that is now and not later in the heavenly realm. We are His children now and not later. This changes everything as you pray. When this verse is applied to your life in the way it was intended it should radically change your thinking and your prayer life. Your place is good, powerful and has free access to the throne of grace. Why? Because the position Jesus has is now our position also!
Praise the Lord!
Ask the Lord to help you to understand your position in Him that is now and not just later
Ask the Lord to help this new understanding to have a dynamic effect on your prayer life
