"Thus Moses did; according to all that the Lord had commanded him, so he did... So Moses finished the work. Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle."
Exodus 40:16, 33-25
There isn’t a person I know who wouldn’t love to experience the glory of the Lord filling the house. This is something that most people feel like they could only dream of. But it’s important to remember that the same God, the same glory that once filled the tabernacle of old is available to us today. God desires to manifest His presence. God wants to live and interact with us as much as we want Him…and even more.
So what’s the hold up? Where is the barrier? Why don’t most people experience God’s glory like we read here in Exodus? That question, that hunger and thought is a good one to ponder and not easily dismiss. Here is one key… in verses 16 and 33, we see that Moses DID what the Lord commanded. He finished what God told him to do. HE PREPARED the tabernacle, THEN GOD FILLED the tabernacle. Moses prepared it, THEN God filled it!
Acts 7 tells us that God doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands, but WE are the temple of the living God. We are His dwelling place. Rock family, we are in a Month of Prayer. Let’s open our hearts, hear what the Lord is saying to do, and like Moses, do it. Let’s prepare the tabernacle of our hearts, let’s prepare our homes, and our church campus as a place where God can rest and dwell and manifest freely in the hearts and lives of every person. Let’s prepare for the Glory of the Lord, and watch what happens!
Let’s consecrate our hearts, our homes, and our church campus to God and ask for His presence to dwell with us
Psalm 27:4; Romans 12:1
Let’s pull our hearts into complete unity with family, friends, co-workers, leaders, and God Himself and expect the blessing of unity
